Founded in 1997 by Carolyn Klika as a Catholic family-owned company, Catholic Word began in response to publishers' need for assistance in reaching the Catholic world with their titles. Our first publisher was Ascension Press and our first title Did Adam & Eve Have Belly Buttons?, by Matthew Pinto, founder of Ascension Press, became the top selling teen book in the Church nine years in a row. Catholic Word started in a house- the "office" in a bedroom and the "warehouse" in a garage. The early years were spent with an intense focus on building the company and growing the ministry. In 2003, Catholic Word opened its new custom built office/warehouse building in central Wisconsin, dedicated and blessed by Cardinal Raymond Burke. In 2009, we opened a second office in the Chicago area. We work closely with our local pastors and bishops. Our mission is to build up the Church one soul at a time through top quality Catholic materials and resources. Wherever a person is on their faith journey, we offer real help to taking the next step closer to God. Our motto is to do the right thing, in the right way, for the right reason.
