Father Scott Traynor's book The Parish as a School of Prayer: Foundations for the New Evangelization recognizes Blessed John Paul II's urging for priests to transform their parishes into powerhouses of prayer. The priest must become a Christian witness of prayer. He should not draw attention to himself but to the utter necessity, goodness, and beauty of deepening intimacy with God in prayer. In calling the parish to the life of prayer, the priest is uniting himself with God's own loving initiative.

The world today poses many hazards that are capable of progressively undermining faith. Divine Love alone is capable of inspiring, directing, and sustaining the Christian's mission to transform culture according to God's plan.

Discover four essential habits that will transform your prayer into a genuine relationship with the Trinitarian God. Get out of the culture of distraction and dive into the classroom of silence.

"In Fr. Scott Traynor's book, Blessed John Paul II's memorable call to make of the parish a 'school' of prayer takes on flesh and becomes concretely attainable. Those who read these faith-filled pages will find renewed desire to create such parishes and a clear road-map toward this goal."

Father Timothy Gallagher, OMV

"Having been a pastor prior to my current assignment as a seminary rector, it is my experience that the faithful are hungering to grow spiritually. This work succinctly reveals a path for the prayer of the 21st century. I heartily recommend it for any pastor, parish pastoral council member, or person desiring a deeper relationship with Christ."

Very Reverend David L. Toups, S.T.D
St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary, Boynton Beach, FL
